Rome, 2025, off-season. The city is quieter, but the Colosseum never really is; even in February, there are people from everywhere on earth, trying to take in two thousand years of history in an afternoon.
I saw a woman standing on her own, camera raised. A few metres away, I raised mine. We were both making the same memory at the same moment, from opposite sides of the world. Neither of us acknowledged it. We didn't need to.
That's what the Colosseum does. It's been pulling people towards it for twenty centuries. Whatever you came from, whatever language you speak, you end up standing in the same place, looking at the same stones, feeling the same thing.
One camera. One lens. I pressed the shutter.
C Type Fuji Gloss

"Two strangers, from opposite sides of the world, raising a camera at the same moment. The Colosseum has been doing that to people for two thousand years." — Billy
